The top boards used to make cake stands are nearly 3.5" wide, except 10"x10" & 12"x12".
We use narrower boards on top to create the 10"x10" & 12"x12" cake stands.
There will be a variation in the gaps in the top boards depending on the size of the cake stand.
10x10 inch cake stand - top boards are very close together - typically nearly touching
12x12 inch cake stand - approximately 0.5"-0.6" distance between top boards
14x14 inch cake stand - top boards are very close together- typically nearly touching
16x16 inch cake stand - approximately 0.5"-0.6" distance between top boards
18x18 inch cake stand - top boards are very close together- typically nearly touching
20x20 inch cake stand - approximately 0.5"-0.6" distance between top boards
